Your teacher will give you the link to the class Weather and Climate site.  You will use this site for two purposes.  A) you will enter the questions posed in the reading and your answers to them into the science blog.  Using instructions provided by your teacher together with handouts and any other appropriate resources, i.e., the internet (www.weather.com)  and local newspapers from the library, you will create an online Weather Data table from the information provided in the slides and from information you collect from the internet and/or local papers.  You will collect and record local information from the same year that the Luxor,Egypt information was collected; you will collect and record a 5 day forecast for your town and for Luxor, Egypt using today as a starting point.  You will average the data, termperature and precipitation information, for 2006; you will average the data for temperature and precipation for this week  for Luxor and for your town;  You will continue to collect weekly data for Luxor and Falls City data on a weekly basis averaging each week at the end of the week until March 24th.  At that point  you will average the averages to determine the annual average temperature and precipitation.  By April 1, you will use all of the information collected to calcuatate an average temperature for Luxor and your home town for the year.  You  will tell your teacher how you think the weather and climate affected both the ancient and modern Egyptians, and how you think it is affecting you today.  You will also answer the question " How have weather and climate conditions changed or stayed the same since 2006?  Using the information you have collected, you will write a summary statement telling me whether or not your data supports or disproves governmental concerns about global warming.
